Catching up

So, there's this interview with George R.R. Martin in Vanity Fair and he admits that the HBO showmakers, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are indeed catching up with him. So is that a goodbye to The Winds of Winter in 2015? Maybe.

Interestingly, D&D mention that they have been setting up the show for the proposed ending Martin has told them about, which means that any and all hints to future plot developments in the already existing episodes could give us clues as to what to expect from the end of the story. As an example, there's a poignant scene where Arya tells the Hound that she's going to kill him. Has Martin told D&D that Arya will kill Sandor? One can speculate...Again though, it seems that the pessimists among us are more right about Martin, the delays, and what will happen in the coming years than the optimists will ever like to admit.

  1. Arya already killed the Hound when she left him out there. While Sandor may have survived and is now on the Quiet Isle, the Hound is dead.
